        Hambleden Valley Ethiopia Project

Our Group of Churches pledged to support St Matthew's Children's Fund (now Partners for Change, Ethiopia www.pfcethiopia.org) to give care and education to 250 orphaned children and young people in Bahir Dar and education to school children in Debre Birhan.

Each year from 2004 to 2008 we met our target of 30,000 a year, raising our promised 150,000.

We are carrying on fund raising to help the Negede Waitto people but our contributions are no longer pledged.

In the summer of 2004 the Rector, Malcolm Macnaughton, his daughter and Bart Lacey travelled out to see the projects for themselves. This photo was taken in a villager's house.

In January/February 2007 and November 2008 further groups from the Hambleden Valley went to visit.
